    Superb

Excellent Location in the middle of Amsterdam Night Life. Good hotel nice and clean. Fast free wifi connection.

All is ok just stairs are too narrow and dangerous but I guess its same everywhere in Amsterdam.

It was clean, and fresh towels were supplied daily. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The location was convenient for accessing museums, parks and shops. Breakfast was adequate.

Although we were aware that the hotel wasn't in a quiet location, we didn't expect it to be in a street full of nightclubs that appear to stay open all night. The noise level was horrendous and it went on until dawn. If you are planning on staying here, buy some earplugs, they help enormously! Double glazing would have been a bonus. The place was clean, but shabby. The whole hotel is in need of a paint job. In fairness they were working on the hotel whilst we were there, so I think something is being done. Our room was reminiscent of a seventies bedsit...think woodchip and magnolia! It certainly wasn't the room in the photo! In short, we've paid less for better..but we still had a nice time!

    Superb

the garden in the yard of the hotel, location, many restaurants and coffeeshops are close to hotel. It is wondrful place to stay for those who wants to see the real life of the city.

It seems to me the breakfast has to be more various but it is not a great problem. There is a hairdryer on bed on the photo but we didn't find it.

There is one guy who basically runs the show, and he's friendly and interested in making your stay comfortable. The proximity to museums and the sights of Amsterdam is great.

The hotel is located on a very busy street, with the general area becoming full of loud drunken twenty-somethings in the afternoons and evenings. If you are unlucky enough to get a room facing the street (as I was) it's incredibly loud at night. I had to buy earplugs. Also, because of the noise you have to keep the windows closed and the room becomes quite hot. While they do promise wireless internet - there was no service in my room, and there was no real interest in trying to fix the problem. The room was clean in all the readily visible places, but behind the desk there were other people's paperwork, trash, etc. Also, the rooms smell of smoke and when you walk into the building you can clearly smell the "coffeehouse" below (but that might be you're thing). If you're interested in partying till all hours of the night and don't want to go far to stumble back to your hotel, this just my be the place. If you're looking to really enjoy the beauty and history of Amsterdam, I'd suggested something else.

    Good

Great location, coffeeshop downstairs so room was smoker friendly

We were on the 4th floor, it didn't get wifi and was extremely hot and small

    Fabulous

I was particularly impressed by Terry (the only staff we saw) and the amount of room we had. The (included) cooked breakfast (by Terry) was also good

The stairs and the nightlife noise outside

    Fabulous

John, the main member of staff we dealt with was a real character who could speak good English which did assist us on a number of occassions. The hotel is located over there own coffee shop, as this was our first trip to Amsterdam this was the reason we picked The Rookies, it is located in the heart of Leidsplein, a busy area with bars, cafes and entertainment, the tram stop is only 5 minutes away. All the staff were helpful at The Rookies, we will stay there again, breakfast is continental style, very nice, due to its location the hotel offers good value for money.

    Very good

Good welcome. Very adequate room. Location in the heart of Amsterdam

Only inconvenience was that breakfast services opens quite late, at 8.00. I had to be at work at that time.

    Very good

    Great location

Ceilings low and angled. No problem for me, but an issue for my boyfriend

    Superb

Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean room with most facilities (only thing they couldn't provide was an iron).

    Fabulous

Very good value for the money, closed to Leidseplain, helpful and friendly stuff, no extra charge for telefons, good caffee and nice scrambled eggs

very noisy street, in room 41 some things need to be fixed, it would be nice to have some fruits for breakfast and I pesonally would prefer instead of toast the "hard" bread

    Good

Coffee shop downstairs with great space cake :) and they change the towels every day. Good location, close to entertainment such as bars, clubs, coffee shops

Overpriced: 90 euros per night for a double room :/. only stay here if you are looking to party. It smells of weed day and night and people are noisy getting in very late

If you come to smoke cannabis the hotel could fir the requirements - coffeshop next door to the left and the magic mushrooms shop next door to the right. That could be and advantage for somebody.

The hotel is awful. Double room has 7 sq. Meters. Warm smell of cannabis is everywhere. Reception opens at 8 and closes at 4 - if you come later, you have to look for your key in the coffeshop. If you come after 1 am - you stay on the street. Bathroom - worse than in student's hostel. And 110 euro a night for that... Stay away from that hotel if you don't just need a cannabis trip.

    Exceptional

staying at the Rookies was wonderful The location has got to be the best for walking and centered to everything. John the Manager needs a thropy and a fat raise. So very helpful and professional; and what a value I booked my vacation for next year there.
